Neutralisation
When an acid is mixed with an alkali it will become neutral producing a salt and water. This reaction is known as neutralisation.
Word Equation of neutralisation:
ACID + ALKALI → SALT + WATER
hydrochloric acid + sodium hydroxide → sodium chloride + water
